Welcome to the Inclusion Revolution!

Special Olympics is a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community. Here in Minnesota, we serve thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities every year through sports training and competition, free health screenings, leadership training and more.

None of this would be possible without our volunteers.

We’re excited for you to join us in any of the following roles!

EVENT VOLUNTEERS

Event volunteers help out in various roles during competitions and fundraising events. No sports or previous volunteer experience is required. Volunteers ages 11-14 must volunteer with a parent/chaperone/guardian. Groups are welcome!

COACHES/TEAM ASSISTANTS

Coaches and team assistants work directly with Special Olympics Minnesota athletes at practices and competitions to help them develop self-esteem, sports and social skills, physical fitness and leadership.

All are welcome! Scheduling is flexible and coaches volunteer anywhere from 1-3 hours per week during a sports season (8-12 weeks). Contact us today at [email protected] to learn how you can change lives!

CLINICAL VOLUNTEERS

Doctors, dentists, medical students and health care professionals are needed to provide free screenings and education to our athletes. We have opportunities at Healthy Athletes screenings across the state.

YOUNG ATHLETES

Young Athletes volunteers help at program sessions across Minnesota. They lead children through a series of activities and sport-related skills drills approximately once a week for 6-8 weeks. Training and equipment provided.

We always have a Young Athletes shift available—join us at a location near you!
